I have converted an .mkv (avc 1) to divx using xvid4psp and observed that the sound was out of sync (in original mkv the sync is ok). I've checked with MediaInfo the mkv file and saw that the video frame rate is 23.915 (non-standard, I guess...). The frame rate of (bad) converted divx is 29.97, so I believe that the non-standard frame rate of the source file could be the reason for audio desync... Is there a way to manage this in order to get a good (sync) .divx?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Just convert with the same frame rate. Divx doesn't have to be 29.97 fps. But be aware that MKV supports variable frame rates so that may not work either.

Would MediaInfo tell me if the .mkv file has variable frame rate?
    How to check this?
