  1. I bought the ATI-TV Wonder to capture off of my TV/Direct TV/Cable Box...I installed it and everything initially worked great, scanned for channels, recieved them, etc. I was a happy camper ready to capture. I rebooted my machine and that was the end of my happiness. The TV option in the multimedia center switched to "video in" and I can no longer recieve TV. I went to ATI website and actually found my problem documented there! I unistalled the mmc and then installed mmc7.1, as ATI recommends. But alas, it's to no avail. I know the card works cuz I had it working until I rebooted. Any body here has had the same problem?? If so, how did you fix it??
I recently upgraded my video card to a ATI 64m radeon so there should be no conflict problems. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated

  2. although i have never had this problem before (but i do work with an ati capture card), what i would do to diagnose the problem would be to do the obvious: check to make sure you're still getting a good signal to your card, try swapping pci slots, and use different programs to make sure it isn't software related.

another option would be for you to capture using a s-video connection from your TV/converter.

if this doesn't help, then post the link to where you found the ATI cataloged problem, it may give me a better understanding of your problem. also provide your OS, ATI driver versions, software used, and anything else you think might affect your capture.

  3. This is a long-standing bug with the ATI TV cards on some sytems. The solution to the problem, seriously, is to return your ATI card and buy the equivalent product from Hauppage (WinTV line). There is likely no other fix.

  4. I had the same problem. If you goto http://www.atitech.com and download the new DirectX 8.0 drivers it will work fine. For reasons unknown i needed to re-install the direct x drivers after every install of the ATI multimedia centre

  5. thanks for all your replies my problem was that i was installing to wrong mmc7.1 for my ati tv wonder. apparently, there are two mmc7.1's, one for vid cards anjd one for the tv-wonder. so, the tv-wonder wouldnt work until i uninstalled the vid card mmc7.1 and installed the tv-wonder mmc7.1
