  1. The problem isn't actually with the media, but with my computer.
Suddenly it has started to identify my g04 media as g03, and it will only write at 2x speed. All my other 4x media works fine. Don't know what may cause this.
    Maybe someone can help me?

  2. There is a program that you can get, called DVD Info, located at:
    http://www.dvdinfopro.com/index.php

Nic Wilson has actually just released this new version and has done a great job with it. I haven't used this newest version yet, but I use the old one and it is great. There are guides to tell you how to use it. Basically, it can give you the media code off the disc so that you can go look it up on this site and see what it really is. My best guess is that someone sold you G03s and not G04s. Compare the media code off your disc to the following two links and see what you have:

    G03--https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?selectmedia=58#comments
    G04--https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?selectmedia=94#comments

Again, this is just my best guess. Where did you buy them from? If you are interested in buying quality discs (like Ritek), go to www.resellerratings.com and check out the company you are buying from before you buy to ensure that you are dealing with quality folks.
As I always say in this forum regarding DVD issues, and as is my motto in life: You get what you pay for!!
