  1. I wanted to which is the most compatibility or playable with set top DVD player UDF 1.02 or UDF 1.05 because I was planning on distributing a few of my DVD that I have made(beachparty weekend dvd) and can I change UDF using RecordNowDX.

Thanks in advance to all that reply.

Actually, it's UDF 1.02 or 1.50. For the most compatibility, use 1.02.
    ICBM target coordinates:

  3. Hmmmm.... i wonder...

I know that UDF 1.02 is most compatible ... but i have the problem that when i use Nero to burn in UDF 1.02 (UDF/ISO), the resulting movie gets stretched.... resulting the subtitles not to display properly on the TV.

Any idea what i'm doing wrong??

Actually, tyoneXXl was right...it's UDF 1.05, NOT 1.50.

also, if UDF 1.02 isn't working for you, then try 1.05.

there are also other burning proggies.....

    - nero express

    - Instant CD/DVD: https://www.videohelp.com/instantdvd.htm

    - PrimoDVD

    - RecordNow

  5. Use 1.02. Recordnowmax is better for burning 1.02 disks than nero...

  7. Well for me, 1.02 works in my DVD player and 1.05 does not. There's no gain at all in using 1.05 either.

ImgTool is also an excellent way to make DVD images. You create an .iso image with ImgTool, then can use DVD Decrypter or any other burning program to burn it (and ImgTool + DVD Decrypter is free). I've been trying out ImgTool Burn lately which is the same thing except it uses the Nero burning engine to go directly to disc without the .iso file creation step. Nero works fine this way because ImgTool bypasses all the weaknesses in Nero's DVD creation code. I don't think it can do UDF 1.05 though, just 1.02.

    both of you are right

    it depends on the program

    nero 1.02 and 1.05

    gear and instant cd/dvd 1.02 and 1.50

    1.05 and 1.50

    same difference

Then I guess the Optical Storage Technology Association must be wrong?

    poopyhead,

    That's another Nero bug/typo!

There is NO SUCH THING AS UDF 1.05--they meant 1.50

The OSTA CREATED the UDF specs, and they state that there are these versions:
    • 1.02
      1.50
      2.00
      2.01
      2.50
You really should believe it when it comes straight from the horse's mouth.

Of course, maybe Nero IS burning with V1.05 and that's why there are compatibility problems!
