OK, I have done enough reading in the forums to discover that the general consensus is that Roxio (Adaptec) software bites when it comes to making VCD. Problem is, this is what I have to work with. I have been through the whole "system clock reference" problem and have tried demuxing with TMPGenc. When my resulting MPEG is not VCD compliant, I get an imediate response that it is not and get the screen with the red X's telling me what is wrong (system clock reference, etc). However, when I have demuxed and think I have a file that is compliant and then try to proceed, my system hangs at the point where I am going to get the preview of the file. I then get a white box that shows up on my monitor saying that an error has occured in my program (Vcdcr32) and that I can choose to cancel or ignore. If I choose to ignore, I do not get the preview and when I close the program, I get a message that the program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down! Has anyone had this problem and discovered a way to get around it? I really do not want to purchase new software. I have recently downloaded some codecs for Divx. Do you think that some downloaded codecs are somehow interfering with my VCD buring software? HELP!!!!!!!
