I have been fooling around with this vdhelp.com for several months merely converting other peoples material, mainly downloaded movies to DVD and its been fun. I recently purchased a Canon GL2 camcorder and the picture quality is awesome. Its actually better than I would have expected. I captured about 7GB of clips to my hardrive and the format is AVI 720 x480 29.97fps with 48Hz 16Bit PCM audio. I want a good strategy to convert these clips to the following formats.

    1. DVD
    2. DIVX or someother compressed.

I went to send the DVD's to other people in our boyscout troop and put the compressed avi onto my ftp server so that others in the troop can download the movie themselves.

Any help or guidance would be apreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    VC
    This is so much fun!

  4. the specific directions are in the guides! it just depends what programs you want to use to do the mpeg conversion and dvd authoring. i'd recommend tmpgenc for mpeg conversion, so you'll need this guide:

    https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgencdvd.htm

as for authoring, i don't know much about this as i use a mac.

    but check the authoring section..
