  3. Well, I know you said you wanted cheap, but I don't think you can beat the Plextor drives. Especially if you plan to do a lot of DAE with it. The DAE is absolutely flawless. You can pick up the Plextor 16x10x40 drive at http://www.newegg.com for only $156 plus shipping.

    Not bad...

Probably is. Many devices for the PC are like this. Same hardware, different plastic facia.

  6. Plextor 24x would cost you about 240.
Liteon 24x would cost you about 150. This is the one I have and it works great. The only different of the two is that Plextor has 4 MB of buffer size whereas Liteon has only 2MB. But look at the price, I think that it is worthy.

  7. Hey! the best on the market for price, speed, reliability, information, compatability and clear instructions for install and firmware, is the yamaha 16x10x40int scsi, fast as hell and on sale at http://www.scan.co.uk for £110, scsi card £35 so for £145.00 you get the best there is. I have used yamaha for years never had any trouble or coasters. and no I don't work for them or own the company....yet!
