  2. I think DVDShrinks thing about going from 2 dvds to one, just means that instead of having to use 2 dvds for your one dvd thats an 8gb dvd it will shrink it. I dont think, or dont know how to take two and it it on one disk

  3. yeah that was my question, I know how to use shrink as its the program i use to backup my dvd's. I was just wondering if their is any simple way to combine "shrink" video files from 2 differend dvd's into one VIDEO_TS folder and have it work properly. But from reading through some stuff to do this i believe you have to first use dvd decrpter and rip the movie file , then dvd shrink the movie files or something like that, not sure...

  4. If you will look on the left hand side of the screen, you will see that there is a GREEN section of menu choices labeled "HOW TO". The first one listed there is a link to the "GUIDES". If you navigate to that link, you can follow it to choose DVD SHRINK as your tool of choice. There are tons of guides there.

I don't mind in the least helping you out and pointing you in this direction, but just a word of caution: There are tons of know-it-alls here who get very upset with questions being posted about "how to do something". These people are frustrating and often rude, but for the most part this forum is filled with tremendously helpful advice.

I say all this to simply offer future advice: consult the GUIDES section first, then do a search for a topic within the forum, and then if you are still lost, feel free to post.

Hope the guides are helpful....here are a few of my favs:
    www.doom9.org (check their guides section)

    Try those.

  7. Do a search here for "Gangs of New york". This has been discussed and there are many ways to achieve this

The guides always promote too damn much work.

    Here's an idea.

If you DON'T need to keep the menus, just rip both movies using DVD Decrypter in "movie only" mode to FILES (not an ISO) (simple, quick - 10 minutes each).

Then author a new film with TMPGEnc DVD Author. Import both movies using the "import DVD folder" option. This will take around 20 minutes.

Now, take the resulting folder, and feed it into DVD Shrink.

    Done!

    ----------------

Alternately... use CloneDVD, which will allow you to clone multiple movies onto a single disc.

Yes -- all those work...but they aren't how I want the movie and menus to be. I just have to keep wasting more time until I come up with a good method...

  10. thanks gurm,

thats what i was looking for,

i always just burn the movie only, never keep menus or anything like that so this sounds like the best way to do it. I just have to learn how to use TMPGEnc DVD Author

TMPGEnc DVD Author is pretty idiot-proof.

  13. I have had the same problem, but want to try and keep the menus. Try this topic I started on merging 2 DVD's into one: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=171254

I have only been able to keep everything APART from menu's with it, which is really unnerving to me but hope it also helps you in your search.

  14. I've wasted a lot of time on putting 2 dvd 9's to 2 dvd 5's with at least one working menu --> in my opinion, it's not worth the time involved to try and get a complete working menu and movie. It looks like you have to have a complete knowledge of IFOEdit and the VIDEO_TS.IFO file to get the menu to work perfectly...and I don't (i just know how to do simple edits). It would probably take a long time anyway just to correct the IFO file (if you knew how to do it).
