are you talking about encoding avi files into mpeg-2, or talking about compiling the authored dvd?

if you are referring to encoding to mpeg-2, I would not recommend using an authoring program to encode - get a dedicated encoder, it will give you more control and better results overall.

if you are talking about compiling time for an authoring project, DVD Lab takes about 6 or 7 minutes for a full disc with 6 or 7 scene selection menus and 25-30 chapters.

  4. using iso buster i have ripped svcd mpeg2 files and i want to convert them to a pal dvd with resolution 720 x 528 the problem i am having is i have tried to convert the mpeg-2 files using mainconcept mpeg converter the porblem is when i convert about 2 thirds into the conversion it freezes thinking it might have been a bad rip i re ripped it but i had the same results i even did a check for bad frames but there was no luck there i didnt find ne bad frames.

so i cut one of the mpegs to a small file size about 50 megs and at around the same protion of the conversion the freeze happened again so my problem was finding a suitable converter which i havnt been able to do so gfar so i though about trying to find and authoring package that will do this for me

i tried u lead dvd moviefactory but it doesnt change the video bitrate which main concept allows me to do

im really stuck any hep would be appreciated

and i really dont wanna you svcd2dvd coz i dont wanna convert that way
