  1. Hi all,

I wonder if any of you can help. I would really appreciate comments from those of you who have this player and have tried playing backup dvd-9 to dvd-r material.
I have tried datawrite yellows 1 & 4 speed, writek 4 speed and some datawrite dvd-rw
Now none of the dvd-rw will play in this player without momentary pauses the same kind of thing as the layer break but happen all the way through the disk, every disk i've burnt does the same.
The datawrite yellows and the writek, when I burn to these some of them are perfect some have quite a few of these pauses on them, as many as 15 on some disks.
The interesting thing is that they play perfectly in some other standalone players with the exception of the dvd-rw material, these i've not tried in any other player.
I would really appreciate your comment on what is an excellent media that works well with this machine, and weather this particular standalone is rather fussy cos I have a feeling this is where the problem might be.

    Many thanks

    Maveric.

  3. Thank you Louthewiz for your kind reply.

Right what I use is Dvddecrypter,dvd2one or dvdshrink and then burn with dvddecrypter. Have also tryed burning with nero, record max now and gear dvd pro and all produce similar results. In fact as far as the burning goes there doesnt seem to be much to choose between them.
The burner I have is the pioneer 105.
The media I have tryed is datawrite yellow 1&4 speed, bulkpaq 4 speed and unbranded ritek G04 4 speed. According to a lot of people here they really rate the ritek G04 disks.

Question does it really matter what speed you burn at will that make a difference

    Thanks

  4. Try burning a 1x speed...

I have Panasonic RV31 and I do get some minor jitters here and there, but then I toned down the burn speed, even though my burner is only 2x speed max, to a 1x speed...

I am gonna give it the ultimate test tonight by making a backup of Silence of the Lambs... This movie has been giving me those most s**t! If all goes well... then i'm happy man!

Well cheap media is one of the causes and Ive found using tdk and alterra media works good for me. I never buy bulk packs because many of them come out unreliable but thats my personal experience. I got the sony and I use instant copy with dvd decryptor and dvd copyexpress and I dont get those errors. I hope this helps...
