Is there any ripping tool that works with the Panasonic (Matshita) SR 8585 (under Win98SE)? I have tried almost all programs on the net and nothing seems to work except for on very old DVDs.

The problems I experience are lock-ups, garbled output ("green" fields etc.)

Any clues? Any recommended ripper? Or should I buy another DVD drive? If so, which brand is recommended?
