Hi
I`m new to dvd writing and have just got a panasonic LF-D311 1x dvd writer.
I know that if I use 4x discs I can still only burn at 1x but will they work or do I have to stick with 1x discs.?
The reason I`m asking is that my local shop is stocking 4x discs only and not 1x for the same price.
I tried a 4x disc and it failed to burn with nero, I have had no fails at all with my 1x datawrite discs.
I don`t want to buy a load of discs to find that they won`t work.
Thanks if anyone can shed some light on the subject.

4X is just the max rated speed the media can be burned at..
that doesn't mean the media can't be burned at a lower speed.

i'm guessing that particular 4X media just isn't compatible with your DVD burner...
but, i'm sure there are other 4X media brands that are compatible with your DVD burner.
if you were to buy any media online, usually they list which burners are compatible with that media.
--------------
not all media works on all burners..
