  1. Say I have an image .bmp and I want it to appear at the beginning of an .avi file and stay visible for a few seconds before the rest of the video starts playing... is there a way to insert these bmp frames into the .avi using VirtualDub (like a homemade title screen )

An intro this film made by you

Use a simple program like "Animation Shop 3" that comes with Paint Shop Pro, make some flips, page curl etc, save the file as an AVI !!

Use TMPGEnc to make into an mpeg and add some cool audio at the same time. Your burning software should be able to add the intro and the movie togeather.

Or join them with Vdub... "Append"
