    Hi!

How can I make my RedStar 231G play DVD+R?
The compatibility list says it will play them, but when I insert a burned DVD in the player it says "no disc inserted"

    plz help

    Thanks,

What brand of media is your DVD+R? Have you tried the disc in another player? Some brand media is more readable than others.

    I used Verbatim DVD+R 4.7GB 2.4x

It runs perfectly in my PC-DVD and on a flashed CyberHome 402.

I first tried to find a flash image for the RedStar Player (like for the CyberHome), but there seems to be no support.

    Hi there!

    I got it,
yes, I used Nero to burn the DVD. After testing other media I searched for other options and found the bit-setting. I switched it to "DVD-ROM" and now the player reads everything perfectly.

    thanks for your support,
    Sebastian

I've got the same problem. Could you tell me what "bit-setting" you mean. It does play DVD-R, but no DVD+Rs at all. Getting a bit furstrated...

    *sigh*

But I don`t think it works with your NEC ND1300 since it`s a dual drive.

  8. Okay, thanks anyway. Now I at least know what that bit setting refers to. I guess I have to use more DVD-Rs in the future, though.
