Im exporting video using my USB INSTANT DVD, to my television. THEN, I am recording off the TV with my VCR. I have 2.0 USB just incase thats an issue.
What happens is that when I send the video to my TV the audio sounds fine....HOWEVER, when I record onto my VCR, the recorded audio is weak and it dips(I can only describe dipping as the audio going from normal audio to being too soft....like this.....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAA AAaaaa)
Anyway, Its not the VCR, because it records fine off the TV just so long as im not exporting the video from my PC.
It has to be the INSTANT DVD, but I really don't know enough about it to fix it.
Also, does anybody know what this error means? "WAiting for USB thread to timeout." How do you fix that?
Thanks.

I also own the same unit. I have never been able to get the output to tape work. I got exactly the same problem. I have tried using a different USB card, on a brand new computer and still could not get it to work. It has been sitting on my shelf for over 1 year now. I now use the ATI AIW instead of the ADS unit.

I never tried that with this unit, Had one trying to sell it now that I have the Canopus ADVC-100
But have you tried just feeding the audio out from your soundcard to the vcr?
Good Luck
