  1. i have a pioneer 105 burner and i am using bullpaq 4x disks

for no apparent reason at all every disk i use starts to initialise the burn then it gets spat out

sometimes it says power calibration is the fault and some times it says detected bad media but i was using these dvds fine

out of this batch of 100 i have burnt 25 and 22 of them have been coasters

has anybody else had this problem and how did you fix it

also i have the latest firmware for my writer

thanx for any help as i realy need to be sure its a disk problem b4 i go and return them to the store i purchased them from

  2. goodburner,

In the past, the tech support staff of two different manufacturers (Optorite and Asus) have told me that power calibration errors are very often the result of poor media quality. The Optorite wouldn't execute an HD-Burn routine, and the Asus flat out wouldn't spin-up to start the burn.

I would assume it's true, as it solved both problems for me.

it is media that Pioneer is not allowing you to use. The media may not be bad. If you load the firmware that opens up the 105 then the disks should work.
All I've got in this world is my balls and my word.....

and I don't break them for no one!

hmm the previous 100 disks burnt ok with only 5 coasters but what is this firmware you are talking about

i have the 1.30 official firmware and have seen a v1.33 but it says once you have used it you cany go back to older firmware

is the firmware you mentioned unofficial and if so could you give me a clue to what it is called or where to get it

    thanx for any help
