  1. I have figured out an alternative to the VCD trick listed on this webpage.
If you have tried to do the vcd trick and then tried burning it as a SVCD as it states, you know..this doesn't work.

You can take the SVCD you burned that did not work on your DVD player, and load it into your computer. Open the MPEG2 folder and send the tracks to a folder on your computer.

Then open up TMPGEncPlus and go to File, Mpeg Tools, Then run Mpeg 1 Video CD on the tracks.

Then open Nero Burning Rom (NOT NERO EXPRESS)
and drag and drop your tracks in there.
Select VCD for type of cd to burn.
Then you will get the error message about it not being a compliant mpeg or whatever...ignore this.
And click "turn off standard video complience...."
Then select write speed and burn.
Then it will work in your dvd player with SVCD quality.

I'm not sure if this is a trick or if I"ve created an XSVCD.
Either way, it works with no quality degrading.

DVD Player I have=Mintek DVD Player model 2110

    It works for me.

  2. What are you talking about?

What you've described IS the header trick.

Give it an MPEG-1 header and burn it as a VCD

You must have misread the guide.
