I tried using FUW for the 1st time recently and am liking ok so far. I'm using the free version 2.8 downloaded from this site. I am a little confused about the output file size though. I set encoding to 2-pass with a file size of 1900MB and ended up with a file that was 2700MB. This is no good because my standalone 5990 player will only read files from my thumb drive that are 2GB or smaller. I figured I would do it again but set the output size to 1500 thinking I would get a file that was just under 2000MB but to my surprise the file was exactly 1500MB as I selected. So I then went back again and started over choosing 1900MB and again the file was 2700MB. What am I missing? Thanks

I'll answer my own question..... I had the profile set to "Standalone Player" which seemed to make sense since thats where I watch my movies. I selected the profile "Encode Speed" and now my output is always exactly what I specify.

That shouldn't be the case though. The algorithms used in standalone player mode (limiting bitrate peaks, etc.) must end up confusing the encoder. You don't need to worry about bitrate peaks -- the 5990 can handle up to about 20,000 kbps via a USB drive.
