Greetings,
I have some animations that I'm hoping to encode to DVD. Much of my material is progressive 14.985fps, which I just double to 29.97fps and let Tmpgenc do it's thing. However, if I have some animations that are animated at 23.976fps can I telecine them to 29.97fps and just splice them in with the other video since DVD is 480i anyway? I know of IVTC filters in VDub, but I cannot find any telecining filters that will take 23.976fps video to 29.97fps video like you find on film based DVDs. I know if I duplicate every 4th frame it will be 29.97fps, but playback will be jerky. I need it to telecine how film is on DVD. I also need for all the video clips to be in one giant AVI that runs at 29.97fps otherwise I will have audio sync problems.
My questions are: Are there any telecining filters in VDub or AVISynth to take 23.976fps progressive video to 29.97fps interlaced video? AND If so, can telecined 23.976fps video and 29.97fps video coexist in one AVI w/o issues? A TV displays the interlaced fields all the same and on a progressive display there would be 2:3 pull-down detection that would weave the 23.976fps content and bob the 29.97fps content (even though they are both obviously 29.97fps 480i on the DVD), right?
Hopefully tht made sense. Thanks!
