  1. I have followed the guide on this site on how to convert AVI's to burn on a DVD. I followed it exactly and used TMPGemc. It converts my AVI to a MPG. Now what am I suppose to do with the MPG? It says on the guide the MPG is ready to burn onto a DVD to be watched on a DVD player. I tried using Nero to burn the MPG onto a DVD, but it will not let me insert the MPG. It asks me to insert an IFO VOB BUP file. How do I make these types of files? What am I doing wrong? Please help!

  2. You need an authoring program such as Ulead DVD Workshop or Ulead DVD Moviefactory 2 to add menus and create the ifo, vob and bup files.

  3. Those aren't free programs though. You should first de-multiplex your video and audio streams from the mpeg using Tmpgenc's MPEG Tools (an option from the file menu). Once you have done that you should have two files, a file named something.m2v and a file named something.mp2 (i doubt you are using ac3 or wav). Now, get a program called IFOEDIT 0.95 and open it. From the tabs up top, choose DVD Author and choose to author a new dvd. You will have a window where you can select what video stream (the .m2v file), and what audio stream (you guessed it, the .mp2 file) you want to make you dvd out of. choose the place where you want your dvd to be made (the last field). Finally, open Nero and choose to create a DVD Video. Drag all the files that you made with IFOEDIT (not the original .mpg, .m2v, or .mp2 files) over the VIDEO_TS folder in the layout. Done.

P.S. You should have about 7 - 11 files depending on how big your movie is.
