when i try to burn a cdr with cdrwin (newest version) it gives the errror "this type of media is not supported" i can burn with clone cd, nero , record now max etc but not with cdrwin i emailed goldenhawk about this issue but received no reply i have also upgraded aspi drivers to latest version but no joy i need to use this prog for reasons i wont go into here (coz its pointless as it wont help solve the problem) anyone tried cdrwin with the sony dru500a and got it to burn cdr (not dvdr) i have tried various firmware on the sony drive to no avail

  2. Haven't tried it yet but whats the point of using it when you have several other programs that work fine?

    What operating system?

  3. Upgrade to the very latest version of Cdrwin. (3.9 release date 06/xx/03)
    Use ForceAspi.
    Then CdrWin will work flawless.

the reason i use cdrwin is to copy playstation games these have to be in cue/bin format as it allows me to modify the game ie: add cheats or protection fixes.

using force aspi doesnt make any difference the drive is recognised by cdrwin and will write to dvd but will not write to cdr i get "the disk format is not supported" i can write to cdr using my plextor cdrw drive but not with my sony dru500a the problem is that i want to remove the plextor from my computer so i can use another dvd drive as the sony is so slow at reading dvd video disks

  5. This is the same reason that make me use Cdrwin.
I'm playing WELEVEN FE for PS2 with a patch that must be applied on the "cue+bin" format image.
My OS is WinXP SP1 and Cdrwin 3.9D (latest) works fine with Sony DRU 500a 2.0f.
Image from original cd was extracted , patched and then successfully burned.
... hmm ... let me see ... did you have a "regular" copy of Cdrwin?
Bad/Stolen codes make Cdrwin very unstable. For more info read Google Groups.

Hint: if u need to "patch" make image of the disc with cdrwin, then patch , then burn the patched image with Nero that supports "cue+bin" format.
    I've personally tested it. 8)

yes i have a payed for cdrwin code not a pirate i also have updated aspi drivers cdrwin is latest version it works correctly except with cdr on my sony500a it gives an error "the disk format is not supported" when i try to burn cdr, ....... it works fine if i burn to dvdr but ps1 games are cdr and many require a protection fix patch which can only be added to .bin files hence the use of cdrwin. I can burn with my plextor cdrw drive no problem but not to sony 500a drive it will read cdr's from the sony but wont burn back as i said dvdr are no problem on cdr's

  8. Very strange ... u can see that my Sony dru 500a writes CD-R CD-RW with Cdrwin with no problems.
Try an OS upgrade or change media.
    See ya.
