Hi i am trying to back up some old VHS tapes of mine to cd...
I am having no problems capturing via my Pinnicle PCTV card but when I encode it to either VCD, SVCD or CVD I can't get good picture quality.
The source after capturing is excellent and after encoding it is pretty good too but when watching it my dvd player it is very blocky and pixelated.
I have captured some 30 - 45 second clips for testing in 352 x 288 for VCD and 480 x 576 for SVCD and 352 x 576 for CVD.
I then encode using TMPEG and the default templates.
Any help would be appreciated.

i am happy with the templates. they turn out fine when viewed on my computer but when burnt on to cd it becomes very blocky and pixelated.

I suggest you use the guide anyway, it may solve your problem.
Hello. -
it sounds like your dvd player is the culprit.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?
