Sup gangstas,
My issue here is my 2.4x dvd+r burner. (NEC DVD recorder IDE ND-1000)
when burning with nero (DVD/ROM mode, UDF 1.02) it takes exactly 80 minutes to burn with 2.4x. I have burned 2 dvd+r's successfully, and they both ended at 80 minutes. Thats fishy, If 4x burns under 20 minutes, shouldnt 2.4 burn at under 40 minutes. Maybe the UDF mode takes longer. Is anyone else haveing this problem with their burners..Maybe if i just choose DVD/VIDEO (UDF 1.05) it will burn at the normal 35-40 minutes, thanks in advance.
Bags.

2.4X takes 22mins...enable DMA on your IDE channel in device manager.

I will try that when i get home from work...
Should i also make the dvd writer a master.
Right now it is a secondary slave to my second hard drive.
Will that matter if the dvd writer is a slave on the my second ide controller?
thanks in advance. -
WOW 80m is slower than 1X !
- You DMA is not actived
- Got IDE Problem
- The buffer of your DVD burner is dead -
Great, thanks for telling me how long it takes to burn.
How about telling me how your drive is set up...whats enabled, is it slave or master? This is a help forum, not a one statement forum.
If you are burning at 25 min, and I'm not, I think most people would want to know your configuration, not just the fact that you are burning in 25 min.
Lets be a little more helpful out here guys.
Thanks..
I fixed my problem anyway.
Now i will explain what my problem was...my problem was the buffer underrun was not working for me. I had the DVD writer was my secondary slave...i made it a secondary master, and now i'm burning in 25 minutes. You do not have to have the HD and DVD burner on same cable. I beleive the DVD writer should be a Secondary master to have successful and faster burning.
Thanks all. -
Using Nero 5.5.10, 2.4X burns at 25 minutes with 20 miniutes verify data mode, 45 minutes total.

We'd need to know more about your OS, your motherboard, and your other drives to give a good answer.I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored. -
