I've tried follwing the tutorials on splitting but had no luck with vdub becuase it can't open the file that I want to chop and avichop will chop the first half just fine but won't stops bout half way through the other half. My question is does anyone know of a way to split an avi into two parts usin premiere 6.0 instead? I just need to get the AVI into two parts so that I can give it to someone to edit. Thanks in advance.

well a quick way is to place the clip in the timeline and split it where you want. Select one of the clips so that it is highlighted, select "export clip: under "file", and render it as a new avi. Make sure you click setting to make sure you have the right codec. This should fairly work. Good luck
