  1. Hi,

I would like to connect my vcr to my PC that contains a Nebula DigiTV card.

Now, My VCR is equipped with a scart connector... but the DigiTV has RCA connectors.

No problem there, I bought a cable to connect scart to RCA, and there my problems start.

Attempting to capture results in a blue screen - what I am wondering is whether my scart is expecting an input rather than outputting signal - is this possible?

    Many thanks

Yes. Amongst the 21 pins on a scart connector are composite video in, composite video out and left and right audio in and out. If you got a scart to 3 RCA (phono) cable, you almost certainly got one that is for scart out to something else.

  3. I saw cables in Europe where there is small swith on SCART part that can be used to make IN or OUT cable.

  4. Thanks for the info, gentlemen, but I have one last question.

If you had a close look at the cable and you saw a lable at the RCA end with arrows directling up the cable to the scart end, would you conclude that the cable is RCA --> scart?

    Thanks!

I would say that RCA goes to OUT and SCART to IN. So I believe you have wrong cable.

You can test it if you plug your RCA into OUT connectors on your TV and IN connector on your VCR. Set VCR to VIDEO IN (not TV channel), tune TV to some channel and record it on VCR. If you were successful (you can test tape at friend or so) it means that I am right and you have wrong cable.

Corect cable would be one that works if you plug SCART into VCR's OUT and TV's RCA IN.

I hope I helped you. Good luck !
