I am having great difficulty finding the cables to connect my PC to my regular TV
My video card has 1 free DVI and 1 free HDMI output.

I already have a monitor plugged into the VGA and would like to use my TV as a secondary monitor however it only has Scart inputs.
Is there a way to connect my computer to my TV withought having to spend the topside of £100 on a down/upscaler between HDMI and scart??

    Thanks

If I recall correctly SCART is pure analog. (RGB and/or composite.)
The DVI output you have may have also analog signal output. With a little fiddling you may be able to get RGB or composite out from there. That's your best bet.

SCART isn't just pure analogue, it's also interlaced. There's no way I know of of feeding a progressive scan PC monitor output through a SCART socket.

VGA output can be interlaced, no problem here (unless you are running Windows, then you are probably stuffed).
But now when I think about it ... SCART has both sync signals combined into one wire, in VGA the vertical sync and horizontal sync are carried on separate wires. You need to master a little circuit to combine them for SCART.

There are VGA to SCART custom built schemes available.
I have such a cable here.
What you then do is have your PC send out 50Hz directly via Powerstrip.
However, I find the whole process a bit cumbersome (every TV has a bit different timings, sending the wrong Hz to your TV might also damage it).
I will see if the Grand Ultimate Vision does what I need, as I have ordered one.
It has both component output and SCART RGB output, and takes VGA as input.
A DVI --> VGA piece can easily be found.

I have that Grand Ultimate Vision, and it is a dissappointment.
I get much better results with the cheap VGA --> SCART RGB homebuilt cable.
Video is not fluid with the Grand Ultimate Vision.

Just wanted to let people know, as it seems noone posted any experiences with these boxes when using SCART RGB.
