  1. I am wanting to encode 75 mins of my camera footage, using Ac3 audio, and approx 9mps video bitrate, problem being is that You cant seem to set the bitrate any higher than 8mbps, Is this the case full stop or am I doing somthing wrong ??

    Here is a screenshot of Tmpgenc set for 12000kbps


    I even encoded some video to make sure the setting is actually active (in CBR).

    However, the question is, what you are going to do with the encoded video. For full frame video, it is found that more than 8MBPS is a waste of bitrate anyway. On the other hand, the video will be useless for DVD authoring if you exceed a total of ~ 9.8Mbps for video and audio.

    I thought that 9.8 was the limit for the video portion, and 10.08 the total bitrate limit for video and audio?

  4. The idea is that I am going to use Ac3 audio, rather than using PCM, and with the data rate saved with using Ac3 I wanted to allocate this to the Mpeg stream, Hence the highest quality possible.

  6. I believe 8mbps is the maximum setting in the wizard, but as pointed out you can enter higher values manually.
