Why is it on a PC when I wanted to make back ups of my vcds/svcds I simply used make a copy of an existing cd in cd copier but my super spanking brand new emac won't let me do this?

Is there any software I can download which will?

I know about toast but I can't afford it at the moment.
    Thanks

Not sure how CD COPIER works, but on a mac the way you do svcd back up is

    1. insert svcd/vcd into mac
    2. open toast
    3. choose COPY
    4. if you have only one drive, go to file save as disk image, and save to your HD a .toast image (to reburn you can either use toast to burn the image, or you can rename to .bin and use the SVCD/VCD burning apps like MMB and FIRESTAETER)
    5. if you have two drives, just select one as the source and burn directly to the other drive

    really easy to do!

  3. you can save the cd image with diskcopy and then burn it back out to a new cd with diskcopy by opening image and selecting burn image. But I would say toast is a zillion times easier. email me tdogg4ya@mac.com

This doesnt "always" work. Yes it will burn the disk, but the playback compatibility is not as great if you do it the way I said above.

However, i should point out that you need a .cue file

it can be from any SVCD you have laying around on your HD, just rename it to match the .bin you have now. then burn like you normally do.
