  1. Hi!

I'm looking for a way to create true DVD subtitles for my SVCD movies that I will author with IFOedit. I've found an application called SRT2SUP which looks like the perfect application for the job, but...

When I load the subtitle file (a .sub file converted to .srt with Subtitle Workshop 2.00) SRT2SUB spits out an error which says "No X1 found !!!".

Does anyone have an idea of what that means?

    Regards,

  2. I haven't seen or spoken to anyone so far who has got it working witout any errors.

I've mailed the author (see: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=151632 ) but he hasn't responded so far, and i'm afraid he never will.

  4. I could'nt get it to work, so I switched to Subtitle Workshop 2.0 also freeware, and really awesome, I used it it takes almost any type to conver a .srt 25fps, to .ssa 29.97 fps adding 31seconds delay, the converted the .ssa with MaestroSTB which made the .bmp files and .son and all for Maestro both are free, and very good.

    Get Subtitle Workshop here http://urusoft.cjb.net/

I already have Subtitle Workshop, but I couldn't find a way for it to make the bitmaps needed for DVD's. You're talking about Maestro, but as far as I can find out this app is not developed anymore and it nowhere to be found.

Can Subtitle Workshop make bitmaps directly?

  6. No Workshop can't. What I did was use workshop to convert the sub files to .ssa Substream Alpha sub titles file. I then loaded that the sub file with the .ssa extension into MaestroSBT http://www.doom9.org/software2.htm#subs
And used MaestroSBT (Freeware) to convert to DVD Maestro compliant subs *.son, it also (MaestroSBT) Generates the bitmaps as well, as Maestro(Spruce Maestro authoring app) requires them, and it (MaestroSBT Freeware Sub converting app) converts Substation Alph Subtitles to Spruce DVDMaestro compliant Subs with bitmaps.

  9. The author of the program has posted an explanation to the "No X1" error that I got.

One has to save the SubRib file in the extended format with X and Y coordinates. It doesn't matter if the coordinates are 0; they just have to be there.

That made the program accept my subtitle and I was able to work with the file. Unfortunately it won't build the .sub file for some reason. Nothing happens when I try to save it?!?

Oh well... at least I got this far...
