Hello all,
I just finished authoring a DVD this morning, but my Apex player barfed when jumping between titles.
Most of the MPEGs are Half D1-NTSC resolution, but mixed in with them were a few that were Full D1-NTSC.
Bummer.![]()
I was wondering if anyone out there has a nice fast way to modify the Full D1 MPEGs to make the Half D1 without doing a re-encode? Are there any header tricks that will work? Or am I going to have to run them all through TMPGEnc again?
Thanks!!

Just what is this reality thing anyway?

You could try changing the resolution in the mpeg files with DVDPatcher (tools section) but what will happen when you try to play a 720*480 mpeg on a DVD that is reported as being 352*480, (or vice versa) I have no idea!

bugster,
Well, it was worth a try!!!
Lots of flashing green colors and all that.
Guess I'll just re-encode and chalk one up to a lesson gained. Luckily, I just paid $1 for the DVD
Next time, I'll be sure not to mix Full and half DVD on the same disk.
Thanks again for the help.Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
I've made several mixed resolution DVDs. One was a mix of MPEG1 352x240, MPEG2 352x240 and MPEG2 352x480. I'm not sure if the problem is your authoring software or your player (I authored with DVD maestro and played on my cyberhome 500). But it should work/be possible.
I doubt this is the problem, but I had each video as it's own title set, and at the end of each clip it returned to the main menu. Maybe for some odd/unknown reason playing them back to back causes problems (although I can not think of any reason why that would be the case). -

I have not tried returning to the menu between title sets. I suspect that will work.
