  1. does anyone have a computer with this kind of model Dell Optiplex GX1 Desktop (450 MHz Intel Pentium III, 128 MB RAM, 8.4 GB Hard Drive)? because i just want to ask if its possible to install a cd writer with this kind of unit (there is no extra slot for cd writer), i tried my luck in yahoo and didnt got anything hope someone can help me here. here's the picture

    You could take out the other ROM Drive and give it a go with the CD Writer. Can't hurt.

    Anyway of course you could install a CD burner in one of those things. You'd just have to take out the cdrom drive that is already installed.

    Also you might want to do a few things first. Upgrade the memory to at least 256mb. SDRAM is dirt cheap these days so it won't cost too much. Also, think about upgrading the CPU. These GX1s will take Coppermine CPUs and if you want to spend a little more money even a tualatin with an adapter. I have 320mb or ram and a 750mhz coppermine in mine
