  1. Everytime I install my capture card it makes my system become unstable. I've tried fresh installs of the operating system and that doesn't seem to help either. I'll get a blue screen at start up or anything else out of the ordinary. Sometimes the system will reboot itself for no reason and then continue to do it several times in a row. Has anyone else had this kind of problem with a video card?

    My Specs
    AMD XP1700
Motherboard ECS K7S5A with on-board Audio
    Video Card SiS AG315-64 W/TV-Out
    256MB RAM
    40GB 5400rpm Hard Drive(system drive)
    60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive(capture)

I hope someone can help me with this problem. If there is any more information I need to provide just let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. The card may not be compatible with your SiS videocard. Are all the TV Wonder VE drivers installed? You should not have any yellow "?"in the Device Manager.
    Also try the bt8x8 drivers:http://bt848x.sourceforge.net/

    OP22:

You do not list your OS in your profile but if you are using XP I am thinking that is the problem.

I had this card and it just did not want to work with the XP drivers. In my case the sound went south and I finally replaced it.

I understand it works OK with Win98.

    Good luck

i have this card (was the first capture card i ever bought). it works perfectly on XP for me with the btwincap drivers. maybe it is infact an incompatibility between the Sis videocard and the ATI capture card.

    irrelevant opinion:
i don't use this card anymore though, because i need DVD quality captures without all the stressing over dropped frames and the enormous file sizes of the huffy codec. i now use the canopus ADVC-100 (even though it has its flaws too).[/i]
Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.
