Hi, folks -
I'm using Premiere 6, TMPGenc 2.5, Virtual Dub, and whatever audio program you recommend. I'm feeding my old home vhs tapes in through a Sony Dig-8/firewire card. At the moment, when I try to extract the audio from my video file using Virtual Dub, VDub says that it cannot extract audio from Type I AVI DV file. Could anyone provide me with a walkthrough w/ exact settings using these programs for capturing these old VHS tapes (non commercial/non copyrighted), cleaning up the video, extracting the audio in order to remove "old tape hiss," and recombining the audio and video files prior to burning? I've tried to assemble the information from various posts here, but I still don't seem to be able to nail down the process and settings.
thanks for any help!
Mike
