  1. I have couple of episodes in vcd mpeg-1 format, and want to create menu for them and burn them on dvd-r.
I can't use any app to do that. Every one of them only burns vcd on cd-r not dvd-r.

Need some help here. Just point me to some application that would do it.

    Thanx

  2. Both the Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 and the TMPGenc DVD Author program will do what you want.

MF2 has better menus, TEMPGenc has better speed.

For both I'd convert audio only (Use the guide from this site) to 48KHz

You can Demux with TMPGenc and then use it to convert the audio only... Guides here once again.

The TMPGenc will take the demuxed video and the converted audio and and add both in one step easily.

Add your chapters make your menus and create your DVD folder, Use your burning software to burn ( I use Nero)

Ulead MF2 can also burn it for you directly.

Both have 30 day trials available.

Tmpgenc has just added motion menus to their latest release too.

    Good Luck

  3. I understand, but what I'm trying to do is DVD-VCD
I don't want to have official DVD format on my dvd-r (AUDIO_TS VIDEO_TS) <- I'm not trying to do that.

What I'm doing right now is simply writing RAW mpg videos on my dvdr (even with 44 audio, not 48 sampling rate) My dvd player reads them. So what I want is a menu that I could get what I insert the dvd-r into the player. Because right now, the player creates it's own simple menu.

SO basicaly what I want to do is to create a cd like vcd or svcd authored. (With couple of folders where the video is with .mpg or .dat extention) I'm not looking for .vob authored dvd-r!

I tried some programs to author dvd-vcd but no luck so far.

Please tell me what apps do this exact thing!

    THanx

  4. DVD-VCD is really NOT a good idea. But if you really want to try I would author the VCD with VCDEasy to a bin/cue file, and then try to burn the bin file to a DVDR disc in data mode.
