    According to the linked source Verizon has been ordered to turn over info on a few users for providing copyrighted music on the internet.

    This just reinforces my comments about P2P. It's just too easy to get found!

    I've never shared music or video online but since the ISP's search for file extensions and names such as "pretty woman.mp3" or "matrix.mpg" wouldn't merely changing the ext. and name to say "file.bin" defeat their screening software?
    ..or is there more to the ISP gastapo?

    all they have done so far is send them cease-and-desist letters...
    And MOVIEGEEK is probably correct - I used to slide things past the server at work by renaming them with a .txt extension, then renaming them with the proper extension after I had them...
