  1. hi....
    i downloaded a movie that came in two parts already.... but now i want to put it to a vcd to play on my dvd player... but is there any way i can do this without splitting the movie into 4 parts now??????

    i'm using tmpg and virtual dub to extract the audio... and vcdeasy to burn.....

    can someone help me out ... or maybe give me some likns on where i can find any info on this ???

  2. The file size of your encoded MPEG depends only on the bitrate and souce runtime. Resolution, size of your souce video, etc. have no effect on MEPG size.

    If you encode to the VCD standard 1min=10MB. So a 80min movie would be 800MB (ie. just fill an 80min CDR )

    So the question is how long is your video? If you so choose you can make an xVCD at a non-standard resolution to put more video on each CDR (use a bitrate calculator, there are several under the Tools section to the left, to determine the bitrate for a given runtime to completely fill a CDR).

  3. sorry i'm new to this.... i calculated that 55min of video... would be 1875kb/sec... with 96kbit/sec audio .... but how do i adjust this in tmpg????? its greyed out when i want to change it...

    you said you were going to make a vcd. vcd has a standard resolution. so just load first file in tmpgenc and choose a vcd template and convert. tmpg will tell you if it will fit on one disk or not. to answer you other question load your template then go to tmpg folder called extras and load the unlock template. you do not need to do this if you are just making a plain vcd.
