Here's a newbie question - I want to cut pieces out of dvds to make music videos and "previews" discs from dvds that I have.
How to ??
Use DVDCrypter or DVDShrink to rip - so how do I convert those files to something I can use in Preimere ??? I'm sure the answer is staring me in the face, I just can't find it.![]()

I was thinking you could rip the DVD was one big VOB file with DVD Decrypter. Then use the MPEG tools in TMPGenc and Demultiplex the file so you have a m2v file and sound file. Then multiplex them as one mpeg file and then find a program that will allow you to edit that file.
I am sure there is an easier way?? is there a program that will let you edit VOB files? that would be wonderful. -
Try one of the special versions of Virtual Dub in the tools section. I believe there is one that does what you want.

yes i can open up and edit the VOB file with the VirtualDub for mpeg2. but my question is now how do i save it? do i have to save it as an avi, then re-encode? hopefully there is an easier way.
