Hi, I am trying to make a dvd out of 3 svcd's. So here's what i tried.
1. made the svcd's into .bin's
2.extracted the .mpg from the bin's with GNU vcdtools
3.joined the 3 .mpg's with mpgtxwrap (the joined .mpg plays fine in VCL)
4. Demuxed the joined .mpg, although it finishs demuxing, the terminal says "could not allocate Buffer of Size -1, Option Preserve Header now disabled!"
5. convert the mp2 to 48Hz
6. VCL frezzes when I try playing the m2v
7. If i try to mux the .m2v witht the mp2(48Hz) the terminal says "**ERROR: [mplex] File /Users/edmund/Desktop/joined.m2v unrecogniseable!
Any suggestions? the m2v is 1.97 GB, is it because the file is too large? whats going on?

Im also interested in this and posted similar a couple of weeks ago.
I think the problem is in step 3 (joining) or possibly step 2 (ripping)
does it have to do headers??
... sorry I'm no help but hopefully someone will be. -
Yes, mpgtx can't straighten out those bumps between joined parts. If you can boot into OS 9, you can use MPEG Append for free. If not, you'll have to pay $49 after the trial period.
