editing subtitles with VirtualDub

Hi i am inserting subtitle to a movie with virtualdub, and i want to know how can i put the sub's on the black part of the movie?
there is a way?

I just asked this a few topics below ("Help with subtitle placement.") nobody has replied though, I don't know if anyone knows =( I'm thinking using submux would work but my submux doesn't function properly
