  1. Hi,

just getting into video and all its joys, well interesting.

But super thicko question coming up !

I've got a Leadtek Myvivo Nvidia 4800 SE graphics card. The spec of the card says it can be used for video capture. The card has what looks like a Svideo connector and comes witha cable that allows you to connect svideo or composite video in to the card.

However, surprise surpise , i cannot get it work. None of my software such as premiere or pinnicale will see any video capture devices.

i have the latest drivers and xp pro.

Any help would be greatfully received !!

    Thanks

  2. I think you will find that these are video out and not inputs so try connecting to your television and see if I'm right. Smile

ATI cards that can capture come with their own drivers and software and they must be installed in that order (wdm drivers, then software). The software can then be used to capture.

I'm guessing you must have something similar. Try to capture with any piece of software that was provided with your card, even if the bitrates/resolution/codecs are not what you want. When that works, then try with Premiere or whatever you want.

    Hope it helps,

  5. I also have a Ti4800SE card made by MSI and I know exactly what you're saying!

I use the InterVideo WinCoder for the capture - it should have no trouble seeing your card.

I only played with it once, so I don't know exactly how it works or what to do, but if you can get a copy of WinCoder it will allow you to capture.

    Good Luck!

I have almost the same card...the Leadtek A280 MyVIVO (Nvidia 4200Ti chipset).

Does the bundled capture software (WinPVR) work? If not, did you install the capture drivers? These are a separate install from the regular video drivers. You can download them from the Nvidia website or from Leadtek. I use the Nvidia reference drivers and they work fine, at least with WinPVR. I can't remember if I ever tried it with third-party capture software as I pretty much only use the VIVO for watching TV (because I'm not too impressed with the video quality). I have a Canopus ADVC-100 for capture.
