has there been a fix for this yet? i read that they were going to work on one, but is it fixed? cuz im using v1.5.2 and still having this problem after a looong, error-free encode to svcd.

if there isnt a fix, is there anything i can do myself to get it to work?
or am i going to have to use ffmpegx?

    please help me out, thanks.

Actually its a well documented symptom

Check the forum using the search field above and you can find more info about it.

In fact, the post by KaiCherry even talks about the fact that it will be looked at in the near future

in the mean time, what are you trying to make here?
Typically you get either nothing, something or sometimes you get it all

    you can:
    1. Try the process again - maybe this time you will get it
    2. try a small section so you dont have to spend the entire time encoding - to see if you get anything at all
    3. use another method (other than 42)
    4. wait until its addressed

Generally there are other ways to do things so you can always use another program.

  4. We are in fact, literally, right now, going over that part of the code

Chris has written a custom helper app that does the logic *correctly* for the sizing; we are now testing it integrated into the workflow.

    As for other progress:

I have the thing basically soaking the cpu now

    On my Powerbook G4 17" w/ 512MB VCD is 2:1 on video encoding...quite a boost from 1.5.x

Proper threading and yielding the GUI to the encoders makes a HUGE difference

We are calling this 1.6 BTW.

Also, we did get DVD folder support in, so you can use a different tool to get a DVD Folder structure onto the HD, then give that to forty-two.

We are going to test this a wee bit more before we release it.

I'm already sick of it agin, lol. We come a looong way since any of us last looked at this codebase so its half funny and half frustrating trying to fix the damned thing

  5. Anticipatory is not sufficient to describe how I feel about the release of forty-two 1.6. Keep up the good work Kai et-all!
