  1. morning campers hows it hanging? Just a quicky, ive recently burn some dvd's. i obtained(he he) the film, then extracted and extracted again. then used vcdgear to get the mpegs. i then did my own style of cutting using tmpgc (by only putting in one cd so it dont merge) once i ve my cd's sorted i check them out to see the continuous play. i then use svcd2dvd+ to convert(one thing thats dif to the illustrations on here https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/159399.php is the layer 2 has a seperate tab so i click it and they seem ok. i'd say 2 out 10 people that have had 1 certain film from me says the sound is about 4 secs behind the mouth movements? any ideas??

Hi london (where you from then....),

Firstly, there has been some updates recently which makes the guides/doc/help on my site & others outta date. I'll try to update my stuff soon.

In short, the browse next to AC-3 is to choose different AC3 encoders. You have just two choices: Sonic Foundry SoftEncode or BeSweet. (i know you will already have besweet but you may opt for SE & then decide to go back to besweet.....)

1: Click to have MPEG-2 audio
2: Check to to produce a wav file step in your MPEG-Audio (can give better quality but takes longer)
3: Click to have AC-3 audio
4: Browse for SE/BeSweet exe file
    5: Current AC3 encoder
6: skip audio re-sampling altogether ("skip audio re-sampling")

Oh yes and your audio sync will be because you cut the mpeg.....

  4. Use this guide: Finally !! A ((SUREFIRE)) WAY TO PUT MULTIPLE VCD'S ON A DVD

It works great when the audio is out of sync. I usualy only reencoded the audio not the complete video. Most off the time that works great.

  6. Hey,

Maybe the audio isn't realy out of sync but powerdvd gets it out of sync somehow. If you let it play out on powerdvd do you have sync probs then? And you can also try to burn the dvd on dvdrw and try it on your player to see if it is realy out of sync or if it is just a glitch of powerdvd.

  7. well what i do is, select the dvd file through power dvd and press play and its fine. if i skip or fastforward, when i play it again its out of sync and after say 10/20 secs it goes back to being fine? now ive ripped it to disc and given to my friend and he has some top notch stand alone and he just done a quick check to see if it works? now when i quick check films i forward them cause the writing etc at the start so probably its doing the same in his dvd player? ive emailed him telling him to let it play from the start or if he fastforwards it, let it play awhile so hopefully it should be ok. ive only ever had these probs with this one film for some reason so once he gets back to me ill let u guys know?
    chow for now
p.s ive also ripped a copy to disc and tried that and it does exactly the same????

  8. If you tried al that i think it is save to say the audio is out of sync on the dvd.

Did you do some cutting and merging with the mpeg files before you used svcd2dvdmpg? If so this might be the cause.

What you could try is load the origional mpg into tmpgenc, select the vcd template you want, load the unlock template and select ES audio only. Then let tmpgenc run and get a mp2 audio file.

Open tmpgenc dvd author and load the vobs from you dvd into it. All each vob is a new track. then select the track which had to out of sync audio. edit the track bij keeping the video from the vob but use the audio you just encoded. then let tmpgenc dvd author create a dvd.

Then see with powerdvd how the audio is now.

This will take about 35 minutes or so if you got a fast machine.

  9. i cut the cd2 mpeg only and then used svcd2dvd+ to do the rest so only cutting was done not the merging!! but to be honest its only that one movie that does it lol to i'll wait and see what my mates says and if its still the same im gonna do what u guys have suggested. see cause it only goes out of sync if u search forward but then if u let it play it goes back to norm. if i watch the film from start to finish its perfect. thanks chappys happy ripping he he
