Does anyone know if the Panasonic S55S Progressive DVD Player plays MPEG1/MPEG2 files burned on CD-R/RW discs? I know it plays MP3, WMA, and JPEG but can't find out anywhere if it plays MPEG files. Many players do, many don't. If anyone knows please tell me. Thanks.

I already used the DVD Player link on the left side of the page, but Panasonic S55S is not there, only Panasonic S55 is there. Those are two different players, they are not the same.

Because I don't own this player. It's on my list of possible players but I'm not going to buy it unless it can play unauthored MPEG1/2 files.

OK, call me an idiot.... but isn't the S55 just a black case and the S55S just a silver case? I am too lazy to check, so I could be wrong.

OK, I find no S55 at the Panasonic web site, only the S55S which has the same features as the 1 listed S55 here. I would say that they are the same.

And Panasonic uses the letter "K" to describe a black case, and "S" for silver case. Often no letter suffix for mirror (chrome) case.
