I am completly new to this so please excuse me if my question is very simple.

I recently bought the above to make short videos.
The DVD RW disk is formated as VR in the camcorder (Not video as this prevents it being editied once finalised).
The shots are taken then the disk is formalised.

I then put it into my PC but am having trouble getting the file into Windows Movie Maker or Pinnacle Studio 10.
Windows won't recognise the file format and Pinnacle just seems to want me to spend more money for "Premium Packs".
I've been told that AVS Video Editor 4 should do the job but before I spend even more money and hours of frustration can anyone confirm this please?

I originally bought this DVD Camcorder so I could shot, edit, add commentary, and play.
I'm in danger of becoming a nervous wreck just getting at the files to edit them!

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Nope, this is not a simple question because mpeg2 and editing is not easy. But I would try Mpeg Video WIzard DVD, one of the best mpeg2 editors but maybe not the easiest to use though.

    Baldrick,
Thank you for such a quick reply.

I will give it a try and, as a complete novice, post back on how I get on just in case anyone else
finds themselves in the same situation.

    Many thanks,
