    Hi all

I have a couple of questions that someone will hopefully be able to help me with.

1 - I have a 699mb DivX 4 movie that I would like to burn to DVD. The file is actually 9 different episodes in a series that I would like to be able to watch seperately after selecting from the DVD menu. Would I be better off
a - editing the file into 9 differnent parts before converting to mpeg2 or
b - editing after the mpeg 2 conversion

2 - I also have an mpeg 2 vid that I want to burn to svcd. How can I cut the file in 2 at a certain point eg I dont want to have to change discs right in the middle of an action scene

3 - When I've looked at the guides on adding chapters to svcd, they all talk about impoorting the chapter breaks from the original dvd. If I want to make my own chapters, how is this done.

    Thanks for your time

  2. 1a and 1b:
don't cut it period. use chapters in a dvd author program. Cutting can give audio sync problems

    2:
    tmpgenc will do the trick.

    3:
    can't help you there.

it would depend on the software you are using to author the svcd.

if the software has the ability to import a chapter list from another piece of software, you could always make your own chapter list.

other software will allow you to preview the video and add chapter points as you go through it. I'm pretty sure DVD Workshop will do this, although it's been a while since I've used it.
