    i maybe missing something here but when the skip re-sample step is ticked why does it de-mux and then re-mux , couldn`t it just miss these steps altogether and go straight to authoring the dvd menus.

    is there a reason why it still splits the audio and video even when the audio is not changed?

    Yep there is a reason...


    What is it? Well the MPEG structures of SVCDs ar different to those required for DVDs. We demux & remux to make sure that the resultant MPGS have an internal structure which we can then author properly.
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
