  1. Hi

I have a XVID which, towards the end of the file loses synch between audio and video by 1 second or slightly more.

I want to convert this file to DVD format, but of course, the dvd file will ALSO have the synch problem.

Can anybody please tell me how do I fix the source avi to sunch the last bit of the film?

    Thanks

It can be done with 2 Tools, Virtualdub for editting the Avi and Goldwave for editting the sound. There is a guide for editting with Vdub so I will only give the basic steps that I'd use.

First, cut and save the avi in 2 parts with Vdub, in-sync (part A) and out of sync (part B).

Extract a wav sound file from each part using either Vdub or Goldwave.

With Vdub, reload the wav file back into part A with the Wav Audio command, set audio and video to Direct Stream Copy and then save Avi.

With Goldwave, adjust the audio for part B, insert silence or cut out a portion as required. Save the altered wav file.

With Vdub, reload the wav file back into part B with the wav audio command, set audio and video to Direct Stream Copy and save Avi.

Load part A in Vdub and then add part B with the Append Avi command. Set audio and video to Direct Stream Copy and then Save Avi.

Other sound editers can be used instead of Goldwave, but that's what I'm familiar with.

    Good Luck!
