I know how to join them together with TMPGEnc but how do i rip them to my hard drive, this is the part i am stuck on.

Hi, are the movies on VCD now? Well, you can use isobuster to rip the mpeg file out from the VCD and then use SVCD2DVDMPG or TMPGEnc DVD author to put them back on a DVD.
