    What's the fastest way to rip a dvd and then convert it to avi or mpeg(VCD). I was using DVDDecrypter and Moviemaker to convert it to VOB and AVI and then Tmpgenc to VCD. Is there a better program to convert VOB's to AVI? or to any other format so I can make VCD's. I don't care about the extras on a dvd like audio or menu's. Just the movie that can play back on any VCD player.

    If you just want to make a VCD you're making work for yourself by converting from VOB -> AVI -> VCD. You can cut out the AVI step by frameserving from VOB using DVD2AVI.

    The above guide works for me.
