  1. I was backing my copy "Kiss of the Dragon". Anyways i ripped just the movie to the HD, then used IFOedit to strip out the unwanted files. So now i have just the video and 5.1 surround sound, with English subs. The movie is about 4.74 gigs. I then opened Instant Copy and tried to shrink this movie just slighty so it would fit on my 4.7gig disk, i set the size to 99% on the adjustment bar, after conversion, it shrank to 3.0gigs. I just needed to shave off .05 of the 4.74 gigs. Why did it shrink so much and is there a way to fix this ? I dont want to lose that much quality in the movie. There should have been very little loss, if none at all, by just shaving off a hair of the size. How come when i tell Instant copy i want the size of the movie to be 4.7 gigs that it does what it wants and makes the size what it wants ? I have not updated my IC, i got the disk and it was 7.0. I dont know if there are any updates or if they will even help at all. Can someone please give me a little insight ? Thanks alot !

  2. I was looking at Mr Bass's site. http://www.mrbass.org/instantcopy/
I have seen some things on there i dont have like a current update of my Instant Copy and i dont have the InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor 1.3.0. I am wondering if i was to install and update my IC if it will help with my issue of getting the right size of my videos or will it make it worse ?

  3. I've had some fun with using IC to create exact sizes. Sometimes the output is smaller than the target and sometimes it is larger.

Use the guide and get the registry trick or the app that you mention. Run it when you have IC running. In your case it looks like you need to target something larger than 4.37(or whatever you want) to get the end result.

For Terminator 2 I had to run IC 7 times until I finally got the right size.

For that amount of shrinking why not use someting easy like DVDshrink?

    Install the latest IC update.
It seems to do a much better job of sizing.

    Cheers ....

  5. Looks like the infamous 'black bar issue' has kicked in, bigtime. From experience, I can tell you there's nothing you can do to increase the file size. Oversizing won't work -- nor will any updates. You can read the sad facts here:
